Since 2007, Corporate Financial Advisory Services, Inc. (CFAS) has provided start-up, early stage and high-growth companies with outsourced CFO’s, Controllers, Accountants and Bookkeepers.  Included within these functional areas, CFAS provides financial and accounting strategies, financial models, analysis, best-practice processes, as well as indispensable insights towards raising initial and ongoing debt and equity capital through private investors, seed investors, incubators, angel groups, venture capital (VC) groups.

Our Founder & President

Scott has more than 20 years of professional experience in developing and executing business strategies; organizational development (OD) consulting; directing corporate finance,  accounting and bookkeeping operations; creating new venture start-up companies; raising private equity and venture capital; business valuation analysis; investor communications and financial reporting; as well as an additional 8 years experience in sales and sales management, marketing, and distribution. To date, he has been credited with raising more than $18 million in private equity funding for various start-up companies.

He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of San Diego, a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Strategic Management and Consulting from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California (USC), and a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Corporate Finance with an emphasis in Accounting, also at the Marshall School of Business at USC.

Scott lives in Los Angeles and is happily married with two children. In addition to appreciating his family life, two dogs and many other pets, Scott enjoys playing competitive tennis. In his former life, he competed in over 150 ATP Tour tennis tournaments around the globe, including the U.S. Open, French Open, Australian Open and Wimbledon, and achieved career ATP Tour world rankings of top 105 and 200 in doubles and singles, respectively.

Case Study

From concept to $100m exit in 5 years
In 2005, two founders of a start-up company, had a concept they wanted to bring to market in the cellular wireless space. They lacked the financial expertise and credibility to perform the feasibility, market, and financial pro forma analyses, as well as knowledge and credibility required for raising angel capital to fund a company from a business plan and a handful of licensing agreements. Mr. Patridge filled this gap and created alternative investment vehicles which it used to raise the initial capital required to get the company funded and operating. Mr. Patridge assumed the role of finance, accounting and HR during the first two and a half years of operations during which time it directed subsequent rounds of preferred equity funding and, in addition to guiding the company towards profitability, assisted in the strategic investment in, and final acquisition of a target company with expertise in licensing. Shortly after this acquisition Mr. Patridge helped onboard a new CFO and exited the engagement. The company rebranded as Skinit, Inc., and was named by the San Diego Business Journal in September 2008 to be one of the top 30 fastest growing privately held companies in San Diego, as well one of the top 50 highest in total revenue, and one of the top 50 largest employers. In 2010 ABS Capital Partners and Norwest Equity Partners invested $60 million into Skinit, Inc. at a valuation in excess of $100 million.
